UFCE Professional Recovery

User Manual

Current operating guide for UFCE Professional.

Choose a source

Select an individual file, recursive folder, mounted volume, physical drive, disk image, or a virtual RAID assembled in RAID Laboratory. Use read-only access and recover to a different destination whenever possible.

Recovery

Choose the scan range and file families, start the operation, and monitor bytes, speed, candidates, validation, elapsed time and estimated time. Stop, save, load and continue are available for supported sessions.

File System Recovery

Use metadata-based recovery for supported NTFS, FAT/exFAT, Ext and XFS structures. Results preserve available names, folders and extents. APFS and ReFS handling is conservative and depends on surviving metadata and supported tools.

RAID and rescue imaging

RAID Laboratory supports JBOD and common RAID layouts, including degraded configurations where enough members remain. Rescue imaging provides resumable multi-pass acquisition and records unreadable areas. Work from the image instead of repeatedly stressing unstable media.

Verification and best copy

UFCE records structural and operational evidence, checks recovered output, detects overwrite indicators and compares available copies. Best-Copy Selection prefers the strongest verified result; no score can recreate overwritten or unreadable data.

Clear, Duplicates and reports

Clear separates usable, damaged and not-testable files. Duplicates confirms exact copies by size, SHA-256 and final byte comparison before any move. Review the translated reports and original paths before deleting or moving results.
