Operating system
Dedicated installers are available for Windows, Linux and macOS. Install and activate only the edition for the operating system selected when purchasing the licence.
System Requirements
Recommended environment for reliable UFCE operation.
Permissions
Administrator rights are recommended and may be required for direct physical-drive access, mounted-volume operations and some system devices.
Processor and memory
A modern multi-core x64 processor is recommended. Use at least 8 GB RAM for normal work and 16 GB or more for large scans, RAID reconstruction or millions of candidates.
Storage
Keep sufficient free space for recovered files, reports, sessions and rescue images. The destination should be a different healthy drive with capacity greater than the expected output.
Connectivity and licence
An Internet connection and UFCE account sign-in are required for licence and operation verification.
Safe working practice
Do not install UFCE on the damaged source, do not recover back to that source, and create a rescue image first when a device is unstable or reports read errors.
